Collections Director

Location: Dallas, TX

Full time, Monday-Friday daytime hours (40 hours/week)

Pay: $70,000-$90,000K (dependent on experience)


Position Overview:

We are a fast-growing third-party revenue cycle partner focused on turning denied hospital claims into recovered revenue. We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Account Manager to lead our hospital denials teams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment and is passionate about performance management, problem-solving, and driving strategic resolution of complex claim denials.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage high-performing denial resolution teams (10–15 FTEs per team), ensuring analysts are resolving high-level claim issues—not just updating statuses.
  • Utilize business intelligence insights and dashboards to establish, monitor, and refine KPIs across individual and team performance metrics.
  • Conduct daily performance huddles and provide coaching, strategic direction, and timely interventions to drive continuous improvement.
  • Act as a liaison between clients (hospitals/health systems) and payers, owning escalated or complex issues until resolution.
  • Identify trends and systemic issues impacting denial rates, and proactively implement process improvements.
  • Review claims activity to ensure accuracy and compliance with payer-specific guidelines and contractual obligations.
  • Partner with leadership and operations to align team initiatives with organizational goals and client expectations.
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to both internal stakeholders and external clients regarding account status, performance outcomes, and strategic recommendations.

Requirements:

  1. 5+ years of experience in revenue cycle management, with a focus on hospital claim denials.
  2. Prior experience in managing denial resolution teams—ideally in a third-party, consulting, or RCM vendor environment.
  3. Demonstrated ability to analyze data and translate insights into operational improvements.
  4. Proven track record of resolving complex payer issues and securing reimbursement on denied claims.
  5. Strong understanding of payer guidelines, hospital billing workflows, and appeals processes.
  6. Comfortable working cross-functionally with clients, insurance companies, and internal departments.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Proficiency in revenue cycle systems, EMRs, and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Epic, etc.).
